It's 0434. All the sane people are in bed right now, but here I am. I've finished my chem prelab, and will soon be working on the previous lab report. I took a bit of time off, and now I'm playing with GIMP to make this:
It's obvious that the finished layers are on top of the outline for those familiar with computer drawings. If you aren't, well, here it is.
If things hold true (they generally don't, but hey, I'm hoping) then I'll be able to make a pretty decent pic from the Dominion War. If they don't... well, I'll get some experience working with my tablet and making stuff up.
Things I'm happy with:
Man in the foreground.
General layout.
Things that I want to improve:
The funky Star Trek rifle. Gene Rodenberry didn't like the idea of weapons in the future, but even once reason prevailed (StarFleet implies space navy, and space navies fighting), there is still a Star Trek aestetic to conform to.
The dying man needs to get better definition. He's going to be a faceless soldier, but even as such he should get some personality. I'll need to rework the body as well, since right now he looks awkward.
Things I will add later:
The third man. Seriously, the composition is unbalanced without him.
Things I need to decide on:
Daytime or nighttime. What effects am I going to use to indicate a battle, especially the "space bullets"?
So, how's that for a first post?
